Magical Mystery Tour LP TOJP 60144. The album feels even more like a collection of singles. (instead of an actual movie soundtrack) than Help!

Or A Hard Day's Night, but maybe that's because every song sounds like it could have been a hit single. " Even George's "Blue Jay Way paints a vivid sound-portrait in fascinating detail. Consider Joni Mitchell's "Car on the Hill" from Court and Spark to be a companion piece about sitting in the Hollywood Hills, waiting for somebody to show up.

The Fool On The Hill. Baby You're A Rich Man. All You Need Is Love. That dramatic guitar chord that kicks of A HARD DAYS NIGHT (album, song, movie) still jumps right out at you, slaps you in the face, and jump-starts your heart.

Both the music and the film are still as crisp and lively as they were in 1964. But nobody's going to complain about having songs like "I'll Cry Instead" and "Things We Said Today" in the second half of the record; they sure don't feel like leftovers. Yet another high-point for John, Paul, George, and Ringo who hit the highest heights imaginable.

I Should Have Known Better. I'm Happy Just To Dance With You. You Can't Do That. How John Lennon's confessional song became the title for a silly James Bond spoof I really don't know. The funny thing is, it works both ways--as a young man's personal statement about learning to open up to others, and as the frantic theme for an exotic espionage chase comedy starring those lovable mop-tops (this time in color).

Like A Hard Day's Night , only the first "side" of this album actually contains songs from the movie--the biggest hits being the eponymous cry for assistance and Ticket to Ride. " But part 2 has a few nice tunes as well, like "It's Only Love, " "I've Just Seen a Face, " and a little ditty called "Yesterday. " And I always love it when they do an all-out screamer like "Dizzy Miss Lizzy, " which sounds like John's raucous answer to Paul's "Kansas City/Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey vocal on Beatles for Sale. Of course, it's essential--as are all the Beatles' soundtracks (all the Beatles' albums), with the possible exception of Yellow Submarine.

You've Got To Hide Your Love Away. You're Going To Lose That Girl. You Like Me Too Much. Tell Me What You See. I've Just Seen a Face.

BEATLES - LOVE - LIMITED 5000 PIECE EDITION - 180 GRAM 2 LP SET WITH BOOKLET. Limited to just 5,000! Upgraded packaging includes two 180-gram LPs, a 28-page 12 booklet. Is an unprecedented approach to the Beatles' catalog, featuring wildly alternative mixes and "mash-ups, " the combining of two or more Beatles tunes mixed together for a wholly unique song. The project came about when Paul and Ringo, along with Yoko Ono Lennon and Olivia Harrison, approached legendary producer Sir George Martin about making experimental mixes from their master tapes.

Actually, Martin says that the concept was born several years before when George Harrison and Guy Laliberte, the founder of Cirque du Soleil, began to explore the possibilities of a collaboration between Cirque du Soleil and the Beatles. Martin and his son, Giles, have created a completely unique soundscape. Says Martin: My brief was to create a soundscape of around one and a half hour's length using any sound I needed from the original Beatles multi-track recordings. It was an offer one could hardly refuse. Opinions will no doubt vary as to the validity of these new mixes.

Those thirsting for new Beatles material may be thrilled. One thing's for certain. Will be among the most talked about releases in many years. "This album puts the Beatles back together again, because suddenly there's John and George with me and Ringo, " said Paul McCartney. It's kind of magical.

Quentin Tarantino SECTION STARTS WITH - Pulp Fiction Soundtrack 180 gram limited edition LP.

Original Soundtrack to Quentin Tarantino's Oscar Award-Winning Film! American Rock'N' Roll, Surf Music, Pop, and Soul!

Includes Urge Overkill's Cover of Neil Diamond's Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon! One of the most defining cinematic moments of the mid 1990s was when the counter-culture film Pulp Fiction was released! Pulp Fiction is the killer soundtrack which includes several slabs of vinyl perfection like Kool & The Gangs dynamite Jungle Boogie, Al Greens sensual Lets Stay Together and Dusty Springfields gospel-like classic Son Of A Preacher Man. The film contains a mix of American rock and roll, surf music, pop and soul. The soundtrack is equally untraditional, consisting of nine songs from the movie, four tracks of dialogue snippets followed by a song, and three tracks of dialogue alone.

21 on the Billboard 200 and the single, Urge Overkill's cover of the Neil Diamond song "Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon" peaked at No. Tarantino used an eclectic assortment of songs by various artists. Notable songs include Dick Dale's now-iconic rendition of "Misirlou", which is played during the opening credits.

Tarantino chose surf music for the basic score of the film because, it just seems like rock'n' roll Ennio Morricone music, rock'n' roll spaghetti Western music. " In addition to the surf-rock rendition of "Misirlou", other notable songs include "Flowers on the Wall" by the Statler Brothers and "Bustin' Surfboards" by The Tornadoes, from 1962, which had been one of the first instrumental surf songs to hit the United States music charts after notables such as "Walk--Don't Run by the Ventures.

The Orange County Register described why the soundtrack of Pulp Fiction stood out from all the others. Unlike so many soundtracks, which just seem to be repositories for stray songs by hit acts regardless of whether they fit the film's mood, Tarantino's use of music in Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction exploded with a brash, Technicolor, pop-culture intensity that mirrored the stories he was telling. " "The soundtrack to Quentin Tarantino's darkly funny crime classic Pulp Fiction manages to re-create the film's wildly careening sense of style, violence, and humor by concentrating on the surf music that comprises the bulk of the movie's incidental music and adding a few sexy oldies integral to the film's story ('Let's Stay Together,''Son of a Preacher Man,''You Never Can Tell'). Of course, the inclusion of dialogue and Urge Overkill's seductive cover of Neil Diamond's'Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon' doesn't hurt either. Pumpkin and Honey Bunny (Dialogue) / Misirlou - Dick Dale, Amanda Plummer, Tim Roth.

Royale With Cheese (Dialogue) - Samuel L. Jungle Boogie - Kool & the Gang. Let's Stay Together - Al Green.

Bustin' Surfboards - The Tornadoes. Lonesome Town - Ricky Nelson. Son of a Preacher Man - Dusty Springfield. Zed's Dead, Baby (Dialogue) / Bullwinkle Part II - The Centurians, Maria De Medeiros, Bruce Willis.

Jack Rabbit Slims Twist Contest (Dialogue) / You Never Can Tell - Chuck Berry, Jerome Patrick Hoban. Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon - Urge Overkill. If Love Is a Red Dress (Hang Me in Rags) - Maria McKee.

Bring Out the Gimp (Dialogue) / Comanche - Peter Green, Duane Whitaker, The Revels. Flowers on the Wall - The Statler Brothers. Personality Goes a Long Way (Dialogue) - Samuel L. Surf Rider - The Lively Ones. Ezekiel 25:17 (Dialogue) - Samuel L. QUENTIN TARANTINO'S Kill Bill Volume 1 Soundtrack LP. Vinyl Reissue Of Soundtrack To 2003 Quentin Tarantino Film! The Lonely Shepherd - Zamfir. You're My Wicked Life. Quentin Tarantino - The Hateful Eight Soundtrack 180 GRAM DOUBLE LIMITED EDITION LP SET. The Absolute Sound Top New Vinyl Release of 2016! 180g Vinyl Double LP Soundtrack To 2015 Film! The Hateful Eight is the 8th film by two-time Academy Award winner Quentin Tarantino, and the first time he has made a film with a dedicated score.

Who better to help create and coordinate his first dedicated score than the legendary film composer and Academy Award winner, Ennio Morricone? Tarantino has used Morricone pieces in each of his most recent six films, including Django Unchained and Inglorious Basterds. The Hateful Eight marks the first time the two have collaborated throughout the production of the film to create a complete picture: bringing together the sounds, sights, and passionate grit to fabricate a truly well rounded piece of smart art. Morricone started writing music at the age of six and has been composing critically acclaimed film scores since the 1960s when his career was launched after composing the score to The Man with No Name trilogy starring Clint Eastwood. Morricone established himself as the master of spaghetti western scores and later on began working in all genres of film with directors such as Franco Zeffirelli, Federico Felini, Roman Polanski, and Roland Joffe putting him on par with the major composers and establishing him as one of the all-time greats, composing soundtracks for over 400 film and TV projects.

He has made his mark on film by blending jazz, folk, blues, funk, and classical music to make for brilliantly simple scores that set him apart from the rest. In Tarantino's tradition of not confining his soundtrack selections to space or time periods, the soundtrack also features songs from Roy Orbison, David Hess, and The White Stripes to round everything out. Hateful Eight is the most sweeping and narrative soundtrack Tarantino has released yet, and is sure to become a classic.

The maestro himself conducted the Czech National Symphony Orchestra in a recording session at Abbey Road, presented here with a sound and mix that simply could not be better. Mark Milano, The Absolute Sound, 4/5 Music, 4.5/5 Sonics. 12-page booklet insert with stills from the movie. Tri-fold reversible jacket with soft-touch finish.

John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band Eddie and the Cruisers Soundtrack Numbered Limited Edition 180 GRAM LP - Motion Picture Soundtrack Released on Numbered Limited Edition 180g Pure Virgin Vinyl LP! Specially Remastered for This LP by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio!

THIS AUDIO FIDELITY TITLE IS BRAND NEW BUT DOES NOT COME TRADITIONALLY SEALED WITH TIGHT PLASTIC WRAP. Eddie and the Cruisers is a 1983 American film directed by Martin Davidson based on the novel by P.

The story concerns the mysterious death of a fictional'60s rock star. The film received mixed reviews, did not do well at the box office and was pulled from theaters after three weeks.

After successful screenings on HBO in 1984, the album suddenly climbed the charts, going quadruple platinum. Nine months after the film was released in theaters, the main song in the film, "On the Dark Side, " was the number one song in the country on Billboard's Mainstream, Rock, and Heatseeker charts; and #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Another single from the film, "Tender Years, " peaked at #31 on the Billboard Hot 100. Cafferty was hired to write a few songs for the film, but he did such a good job of capturing the feeling of the 1960s and 1980s that Davidson asked him to score the entire film. Only Michael "Tunes" Antunes, the tenor saxophone player for the Beaver Brown Band, and Helen Schneider were professional musicians in the cast. There was a year's delay before this film, which concerns the mysterious death of a fictional'60s rock star, took off via video and cable TV, but when it did, the soundtrack album, featuring such songs as'On the Dark Side' and'Tender Years' by John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band, took off with it... Anticipation is already high for this companion piece to Baz Luhrmann's groundbreaking film of the F. The soundtrack was executive produced by Shawn''JAY Z Carter, and produced by the film's co-writer/ producer/ director Luhrmann. Drawing on his unique and unrivaled position in popular culture, Jay Z (with collaborator and the film's executive music consultant Jeymes Samuel) worked with Luhrmann and music supervisor Anton Monsted on the Gatsby project over the past two years, translating the Jazz Age sensibility of F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel into the musical equivalents of our own times through the blending of hip hop, traditional jazz and other contemporary musical textures. Penned by Lana Del Rey and the film's director, Baz Luhrmann, the song "Young and Beautiful" was released to contemporary hit radio as a single, and has been used as the film's buzz single. Hip hop magazine Rap-Up called the single "haunting", while MTV called it "somber-sounding". The track performed by Florence and the Machine, "Over the Love", references the "green light" theme from the novel in its lyrics. Chris Payne of Billboard praised Beyoncé and André 3000's cover of "Back to Black", made unique with a downtempo EDM wobble.

Scott Fitzgerald's Long Island-set novel, where Midwesterner Nick Carraway is lured into the lavish world of his neighbor, Jay Gatsby. Soon enough, however, Carraway will see through the cracks of Gatsby's nouveau riche existence, where obsession, madness, and tragedy await.

[O]ne of Luhrmann's main arguments in grounding the film's soundtrack in hip-hop was to tie in thematically with Fitzgerald's own long-discussed fascination with all things modern, new and exciting. After all, if jazz was employed in the original Gatsby as a means to impart the feel of daring, cutting-edge newness, then it makes sense to accent those elements in a modern adaptation through sounds that are daring and cutting edge right now... Part of the genius inherent in Luhrmann and Jay-Z's soundtrack is that the modern tunes are all based around authentic jazz tunes...

It also doesn't hurt that Luhrmann and Jay-Z have picked a cadre of artists and from Bryan Ferry, to The xx, to Fergie, to Florence + the Machine, who truly understand their role in the production -- especially in the case of Lana Del Rey, who delivers possibly the best song of her career. 2, featuring a compilation of memorable tracks from the'60s and'70s which are played within key moments of the film. This time, Gunn had a bigger budget, which allowed him to include familiar songs from superstar acts: George Harrison's'My Sweet Lord,' Fleetwood Mac's'The Chain' (every band member watched the scene that features the song before giving approval) and ELO's'Mr. Blue Sky' which scores what Gunn calls'the most hugely insane shot I've ever done,' early in the film. It's the perfect song to start the movie,' says Gunn,'because it's really joyous, but there's a really dark underpinning to it. There are, again, plenty of deep cuts on hand, and Gunn (who once played in a band of his own, the Icons) relished the chance to expose the likes of Jay and the Americans''Come a Little Bit Closer' or a true obscurity like 1976's'Wham Bam Shang-A-Lang,' by one-hit-wonder Silver to the Marvel-loving masses. One of the most exciting things,' he says,'was knowing I would be making bands that may have been forgotten suddenly be a topic of conversation. 20 Flight Rock (Dave Pirner). Natural Born Killers Soundtrack LIMITED EDITION 2LP SET. Produced by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, the soundtrack to the film Natural Born Killers (1994) was a downright smash in youngster's music tastes of the era.

On his approach to compiling the soundtrack, Reznor told MTV: I suggested to Oliver [Stone] to try to turn the soundtrack into a collage-of-sound, kind of the way the movie used music: make edits, add dialog, and make it something interesting, rather than a bunch of previously released music. " Some songs were written especially for the film or soundtrack, such as "Burn by Nine Inch Nails. Other songs featured are by artists like Patti Smith, Cowboy Junkies, Leonard Cohen, Jane's Addiction, Dr.

The soundtrack to Oliver Stone's brutally warped serial killer saga recreates the hallucinatory feeling of the film. Snatches of dialogue interweave with song fragments and sound effects, creating a harrowing, violent soundscape where Leonard Cohen occasionally offers a relief of sorts. In fact, Reznor managed to convey the insanity of the movie's lead characters much more effectively than Stone did with the film itself. Original score to Paramount Pictures' 1988 holiday comedy "Scrooged, " starring Bill Murray, Karen Allen, David Johansen and Bobcat Goldthwait, and directed by Richard Donner. An important score in Elfman's canon, "Scrooged" was the composer's first big-budget Hollywood score and one that clearly anticipates his next, and most iconic work.

For this wickedly funny and inventive update of the immortal Dickens Christmas classic, Elfman fashions a robust, sophisticated musical tapestry that expertly weaves together the film's varied tones, which runs the gambit from wildly broad comedy and holiday cheer to gothic horror and emotional drama. The only other song recorded especially for this album is a cute version of "Rock'n' Roll High School" by P. The rest of the album consists of tracks licensed from other record companies.

Most of them are very good, although I don't care much for the weird instrumental by Brian Eno. Several of the songs have a "school" theme, appropriately enough.
