Beatles The Please Please Me 1st Mono Black & Gold Dick James Vinyl LP Album
LP, Mono, Album, Black & Gold Label, Dick James Credits. Matrix / Runout (Side A runout): XEX 421-1N. Matrix / Runout (Side B runout): XEX 422-1N. Cover in nice shape generally.
No rips or tears, some slight damage to flipbacks, some discolouration on back, some ringwear. Original Emitex inner in vg condition one side of inner has slight tear on inner(centre). Front of cover: very nice but with creasing to laminate in places. Vinyl has quite alot of light marks/stylus marks etc and small scuffs here and there, but nothing deep no skips jumps or major clicks. When playing on a stereo record player with a stereo cart, the vocals have distortion but the music is clear as day.
I would have tried summing to mono but don't have available leads or mono switch on amp. I have only altered balance to one speaker only and most if not all of the distortion has vanished.. it's hard to tell for me as i'm not a beatles expert and the vocals possibly had slight overdrive due to valve gear being pushed hard. Without playing with a mono cart i can't be sure distortion will fully vanish, but as i said just altering the balance to one side takes most of it away....
And the instruments sound superb Does have very minimal background noise in places but in no way messes with the listening experience. VIDEO BELOW OF ACTUAL RECORD! RECORD PLAYING AND CLOSE UP OF COVER.
