Meet The Beatles. Vinyl LP. First Label Variation Stereo, Scranton

On January 20, 1964 Meet The Beatles hit the shelves in American record stores. Capitol Records was in such a rush get them there, they released the album without BMI or ASCAP designations on the labels. These albums are referred to as First Label Variations. All of the albums tracks on the subsequent labels will have an ASCAP or BMI credit within the parenthesis and preceding the time.

Because only a small number of these first-run labels were printed, records without the BMI or ASCAP designations are very scarce and worth significantly more than the records with labels printed afterwards. In addition, in 1964 Mono was still the dominant format at Capitol Records. Stereo only made up about 15% of a typical pressing, making Stereo, First Label Variations an extra rare piece of Rock & Roll history. The vinyl is in Near-Mint condition (flawless playing).

The cover is in Good to Very Good condition. The original paper sleeve is in fair condition.

It has the following identifiers. No BMI or ASCAP designations on labels. No George Martin credit on back cover. #3 (Scranton PA) Capital plant designation on the back cover.
