The Beatles'A Hard Days Night' Very Rare, Unusual Labels, 1966 Vinyl LP VG+/VG+. This is a very rare record. Thought to be from'66 or'67 this is a mono copy of'A Hard Day's Night' that has a label layout more akin to the first pressings with the'Parlophone' rim text.
This type of layout does not feature in the reference literature for the Beatles (for example Spizer/Frank) and is very scarce. Not only does this have an unusual layout - see the track listing etc. I have spent some time researching this particular pressing and label configuration and if you are interested in this then you probably already know what you are looking at. The condition is easily VG+, this is very clean and sounds superb with very little noise, this is clearly not overplayed and is quite a low hours copy. There are some fine hairlines visible in good light that are notably audible as is often the case with heavier mono records, there are no scratches and no notable marks. The cover is very good indeed, intact, no damage, a small price written in pencil on the back and some light age-related discolouration. This is a nice copy and a very rare issue. This record has been professionally cleaned to maximise it's playback potential. Please see the following grading guidelines which I use to grade all media: Items will be described in the following order: Media/Cover i. MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.
The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc. FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced. POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc.
The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing. BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler. CD's are similarly graded though the Jewel case is disregarded in grading. The grading applies to the media and the insert.
Cassettes will simply be described in their playing condition and are all tested. All records are sent out in twin wall'Music Max' mailers with stiffeners and will arrive safe and sound!
