ORIGINAL 1st PRESS UK / WEST INDIES 1970 PARLOPHONE 1 BOX EMI VINYL IN GOOD / VERY GOOD CONDITION COMPLETE WITH YEEX 150-1 / YEEX 151-1 MATRIX ETCHINGS. THIS IS THE WEST INDIES EXPORT PRESS IDENTIFIABLE BY THE RECESS IN THE CENTRAL LABEL AREA OF THE VINYL AKIN TO THE EARLY DECCA PRESSES OF WITH THE BEATLES, LABELS SHOWING THE MADE IN GT BRITAIN TEXT WERE SUPPLIED TO THE PLANT IN THE CARIBBEAN FOR ADHESION. OVERALL THE AUDIO IS VERY GOOD THOUGH READ A SIDE x SIDE BREAK DOWN BELOW. FULLY LAMINATED UK GARROD & LOFTHOUSE COVER INCLUDED TOO THOUGH THIS IS ON A POOR CONDITION WITH CLEAR VISIBLE DAMAGE.
THIS HOWEVER COULD BE UPGRADED WITH A BETTER COVER AS THE UNIQUE EXPORT CATALOGUE NUMBER OF P-CPCS 106 ON THE LABELS WAS NEVER USED FOR THE COVERS - THESE HAD THE STANDARD CATALOGUE NUMBER OF CPCS 106. VERY GOOD - A FEW SURFACE MARKS ARE VISIBLE AND A QUIET AUDIBLE CRACKLE IS OCCASIONALLY, THOUGH VERY VERY RARELY, HEARD IN THE QUIETER MOMENTS - NOTHING THAT DISTRACTS FROM THE OVERALL AUDIO EXPERIENCE THOUGH, ABSOLUTELY NO DEEP SURFACE MARKS, SCRATCHES OR ANYTHING THAT EFFECTS STYLUS TO SKIP OR JUMP DURING PLAYBACK, THERE IS JUST ONE AUDIBLE POP AND THAT IS IN THE DEAD WAX BETWEEN' I SHOULD'VE KNOWN BETTER' AND'PAPERBACK WRITER' - BLINK AND IT'S GONE, THIS SIDE OF THE RECORD HAS VISIBLE SURFACE MARKS THOUGH RETAINS A GOOD CLEAN SHINE AND CAN STILL BE PLAYED AND ENJOYED WITH NOTHING DETRIMENTAL TO OVERALL AUDIO EXPERIENCE. VISUALLY - G // AUDIBLY VG. SIDE 2 VINYL GOOD - MORE VISIBLE LIGHT SURFACE MARKS CAN BE SEEN THAN SIDE 1 AND A LIGHT CRACKLE HEARD IN THE BACKGROUND IS MORE.
AUDIO IS STILL CLEAR THOUGH WITH NO POPS AND ALTHOUGH THERE IS A QUIET AUDIBLE CRACKLE IN THE QUIETER MOMENTS IN THE BACKGROUND IT STILL DOES NOT. ABSOLUTELY NO DEEP SURFACE MARKS, SCRATCHES OR ANYTHING THAT EFFECTS STYLUS TO SKIP OR JUMP DURING PLAYBACK.
THIS SIDE OF THE VINYL RETAINS A CLEAN SHINE AGAIN THOUGH THERE IS CLEAR VISIBLE SURFACE WEAR AND A QUIET AUDIBLE CRACKLE IS HEARD IN THE BACKGROUND DURING PLAYBACK. COVER: POOR FULLY LAMINATED GARROD & LOFTHOUSE COVER, CLEAR VISIBLE WEAR CAN BE SEEN THROUGHOUT, AT SOME POINT THE FRONT HAS BEEN TORN DIRECTLY ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE FRONT IN TWO PLACES - THIS HAS BEEN CRUDELY REPAIRED WITH PIECES OF SELLOTAPE, THE TEAR HAS CONTINUED TO THE SPINE AREA MAKING THE TEXT NOW PARTIALLY READABLE - THE INTEGRITY OF THE SPINE IS NO LONGER THERE, REAR COVER IS IN BETTER CONDITION WITH JUST LIGHT AGEING WEAR VISIBLE, THE COLOURS THROUGHOUT ARE ALL STILL CLEAR AND VIVID THOUGH AND ALTHOUGH THERE IS.
DAMAGE TO THE FRONT THE IMAGERY IS STILL STRONG. AS STATED ABOVE THE COVER ITSELF WAS SUPPLIED BY THE UK PRESSING PLANT TO THE. AND THERE WAS NEVER A PRINTED COVER THAT DISPLAYED THE EXPORT CATALOGUE NUMBER SHOWN ON THE LABELS SO THIS COULD BE REPLACED TO IMPROVE THE OVERALL INVESTMENT. INNER SLEEVE IS A WHITE POLYLINED INNER AND I CAN NOT ESTABLISH IF THIS IS WHAT WAS ISSUED AT THE TIME OR NOT.
