THE BEATLES IN MONO VINYL BOX (180 gram 11 LP 2014)

Beautiful condition box set with hardcover book and 11 LPs (14 discs) pressed by Optimal Media in Germany. The album covers and vinyl are all in NEAR MINT condition. The 108 page book AND Mono Masters are STILL SEALED in original shrinkwrap. All Sgt Pepper and White Album inserts and posters are included.

Each album also has a small printed insert explaining the vinyl cutting process of each album. This was my personal copy of this set. I have had it since it was released new in 2014. I never opened the shrinkwrap on the book, nor the Mono Masters album (since I already had an open copy of that album). Each of the other vinyl was played exactly 2 times on a properly set up Technics SL-1200 MK6 with an Ortofon 2M Mono SE cartridge.

I played them one time to listen through, and then a second time to digitize them. These records are heavy 180 gram pressing with the Parlophone & Apple labels (Magical Mystery Tour has a Capitol label). The records were pressed by Optimal Media in Germany.

This boxed set is out of print and is quickly becoming a collectors item. All albums except Mono Masters are in re-sealable plastic sleeves (Mono Masters is shrink wrapped). I have cleaned all of the open records for you on a Record Doctor VI Record Cleaning wet vacuum machine (except Mono Masters which is still factory sealed).

CAVEATS: - The small insert in With The Beatles (that explains the cutting process) is actually for Please Please Me. It came this way from the factory. The white glossy box has a very small dent in the top and some minor imperfections from 6+ years of storage.

The outer slipcase is provided but it has some clear dents and rips as it has protected the glossy box. Please reference the photos for condition. Working in the same room at Abbey Road where most of The Beatles' albums were initially cut, the pair first dedicated weeks to concentrated listening, fastidiously comparing the master tapes with first pressings of the mono records made in the 1960s. Using a rigorously tested Studer A80 machine to play back the precious tapes, the new vinyl was cut on a 1980s-era VMS80 lathe. Fremer says the lathe was equipped with a Neumann SX-74 cutter head. The originals were cut on a Scully lathe, perhaps with a Westrex cutter head.
