The Beatles Mono Collection Vinyl BMC10 1982 Red Box Set 10 LPs NM PERFECT

The Beatles Mono Collection BMC10 1982 - 10 LPs - NM Vinyl - PERFECT. This set is going to be as close to MINT as you will ever get with one of these boxes. This Red Box Vinyl LP BMC10 Collection is gorgeous!!! All of the vinyl is absolutely MINT.

This is the holy grail for Beatles vinyl collectors. The Beatles Mono Collection from 1982 in the ultra-rare RED BOX. A estimated 1,000 BLACK mono boxes were produced. I don't know how accurate that estimate is. For Beatles collectors, this set is still the best Beatles MONO box set, and is considered absolutely superior to the 2014 remastered vinyl box set.

This is the 1982 U. Each cover is virtually'as new'. All of the sleeves are in absolutely EXC condition and all of the vinyl is in M/NM condition.

ALL INSERTS are in the package Sgt. Pepper cutouts, and White Album glossies and poster.

Although I was told the red boxes were not issued a serial number, there is a serial number card in the box as pictured. However, there is no actual serial number on the card. The box itself looks beautiful as shown in the photos. Clean & fully intact with no tears or damage to the front hinge and just a little shelf wear. Some sides were re-cuts by Harry Moss, and some of them still used the 60's metal parts (tube cuts are marked). This set contains the following albums (and stamper numbers). Please, Please Me' - XEX 421-3/422-2N. With The Beatles' - XEX 447-8/448-8.

A Hard Day's Night' - XEX 481-3N/482-3N. Beatles For Sale' - XEX 503-5/506-3N. Rubber Soul' - XEX 579-6/580-5. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' - XEX 637-1/XEX 638-1.

The Beatles (White Album)' - XEX 709-2/710-2/711-4/712-2. Yellow Submarine' - XEX 715-1/716-2. This is a wonderful way to kick start your mono Beatles vinyl collection.

Well cared for in a smoke free home. This item comes from the collection of a high end long time Beatle's collector. Don't let this one pass!!!

Thanks for looking : Please take a look at my other Beatles auctions! GENERAL INFORMATION ON THIS BOXED SET.

Released October 3 1982, The Beatles Mono Collection is a boxed set of all Beatles' albums which were originally issued on mono LPs in the UK (Please Please Me to Yellow Submarine). EMI reportedly pressed a total of 10,000 copies of each reissue mono LP for sale individually. 1000 numbered black boxed sets were assembled and issued in the United States by the Dutch East India Trading Co.

These US sets included a numbered certificate. The set contains the following Parlophone Beatles LPs. A Hard Day's Night (PMC-1230). Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (PMC-7027). The band's last two albums Abbey Road, and Let It Be were not included as they never received a mono LP release in the UK.

I was asked by someone why this set is considered superior to the 2014 remasters by some Beatles collections. Just like everything, it's a matter of opinion. The BMC10 box was made back when they knew how to make vinyl records. I know that sounds funny but it is widely known that there were pressing problems with the 2014 set.

It was hard for some people to get a good full set of discs without problems skips and pops, bubbled vinyl, etc. The original master tape for Please Please was used in cutting the pressing in the BMC10 box. A copy tape (2nd generation) was used to cut the 2014 pressing. Sean Magee (Abbey Road Mastering Engineer) - Please Please Me we had to make a new master for. The tape itself wasnt shedding but the glue that holds the edits together had seeped through various layers of the tape. The tape was playing and it left a sticky sludge on the playback head which isnt very good. We thought rather than have it do that, we thought well make a new one. Many of the sides in the BMC10 box were cut with tube equipment (they are marked in the listing).

There are some people who prefer the sound of tube cut vinyl vs. People are comparing old and new cuts with the wrong size stylus making the 2014 set to appear better sounding. I have been told that many of the sides in the BMC10 box were pressed using 1960's cuts. Mono vinyl records were pressed with a large groove sizening 1mil up to the mid-60s (although it is unclear when exactly it changed).

From that point, stereo became the primary vinyl format with a smaller, 0.7mil groove. Stereo cutting lathes then had a plug-in mono cutter option, when required but still using a 0.7mil groove sized. That is what the 2014 Mono pressings feature, 0.7mil grooves (as do all modern mono reissues, incidentally). Here are a few other things I've read and compiled regarding the 2014 mono box.

The 2014 Mono Masters discs were also recompiled onto new tape prior to cutting (2nd generation). The run out groove on Pepper just misses a bit of laughter and the word "never". Some of the cover colors aren't as vibrant as originals. And of course no lamination.

They do not contain reproduction'Emitex' inner sleeves. They got the wrong font on AHDN at the rear bottom'Printed by Garrod... There is a typo on MMT Los Angels.

There is some reversal of colors on PPM: The colors of the left upper Parlophone box on the original is orange-red and the letters of PLEASE PLEASE ME on the cover are red. SPLHCBs back cover has the band mates sitting differently when compared to the text. On the back of Pepper.

Look at FOR THE BENEFIT OF MR. The Mono and Stereo copies from 2012 and 2014 respectively both say FOR THE BENEFIT OF ME. My original US Stereo and Mono copies say MR. Kite on a UK original.

On the 80s reissue vinyl and the 2009 mono CD also. On the WA album's poster insert'Thanks to...
