Hands down among the rarest of all Beatles and frankly speaking signed rock memorabilia period. A hand signed vinyl record by 4 of the 5 members of the Wilburys including Nelson Wilbury (George Harrison), Charlie T. (Tom Petty), Otis (Jeff Lynne), and Lefty (Roy Orbison). I've been in this business for 20 years now and I've only seen or heard of 1 other witch is personalized (image included for reference). There are couple posters signed by various members and only 1 with the 4 signatures.
Well George wasn't very easy to obtain period, it's not that he wasn't a nice guy but he was very private. He's undoubtedly signed hand full of these albums over the years.Tom and Jeff have signed a lot of these over time, more so now that both of them are out and about often but Roy Orbison tragically died of a heart attack 2 months after the album was released and only a couple have ever surfaced that he signed. Another signed poster with Roy, Jeff and Tom (signed to Dino) and it too has all the character names inscribed, The signed vinyl cover inscribed "To Kenny" with the signatures of the Character names only which is neat and this is the other only LP jacket known.
Also for reference is an official seal from an official Wilburys guitar case. This is the real deal.
If anyone has any other images of known authentic Wilbury's items that have both George and Roy please contact me, Petty and Lynne are common, I'm also aware of the LP jacket signed in Silver by George, Jeff and Tom, missing Roy. Sadly, I've never seen a real items signed by all 5 with Dylan other then a contract. There is a 8x10 press photo floating around with a real Harrison and a 100% fake Jeff Lynne and it's likely the Dylan isn't real either. Sad someone would ruin that item. I acquired this as is.
It came with a group of items from an estate sale of a Marge Gonzalez. It was with really nice Dark Horse record signed and dedicated "To Marge" and a Warner Brothers gold record for 500k sales of Club Neavou's debut album in 1986. It was presented to her and her name was displayed.
She was in the record industry but to date I can't find a thing about her. It was once framed but not any longer. It is mounted to the matte board with what appears to be micro thin 1/2 sticky residue strip around the perimeter of the back of the record, in my experience this can be removed and it helps that the cover has a slight gloss to it. The cover has some wear, you can see the white marks, they aren't gouges, or scuffs, just a slight scrape of the surface. You can't even feel them with your fingers really, I can't explain how they got there. There are no bends or cuts. A color pencil artist could easily restore this. Personally, I'd just finish pulling this off the old matting and re-frame it with the matting covering the outer edge and that takes care of 90% of the white marks? They signed a few of these for high level execs and some radio and promotional people.
Marge being one of them. He showed me an image of his that he still has and it's all signed the same way. When you are assessing the total quantity of items "out there" we can only go by known examples.... Up till this popped up it was 1 of only 3 known.
Now I know there to be around 10. But the stuff signed for execs almost never hits the market.... How many more Beatles signed albums by all 4 are on someones wall in a mansion in Malibu or pent house in NYC?
Is there a real signed Beatles guitar???? Half the fun of collecting is the hunt. I was told that his boss and friend still has his and that he walked into a record shop in AZ and when brought to the back room to look at the rare stuff he saw another framed on his wall from the same signing that somehow got out also.
I seem really unlikely that another will ever hit the market honestly. So there ya go, that's the history of this item. I'm going to leave my original writing up so not to seem like I'm just making stuff up. I have a small image of the other album I can share privately to serious buyers but he asked me not to post it.
It will be packed extremely well, express, and insured. I have no COA, you are welcome to source your own through any third party authentication firm such as Epperson, JSA, PSA or Beckett.
